Halloween Experiences in NYC 2026
By the Halloween NYC 2026 team (Nine & Up Group LLC) · Updated October 4, 2026
Halloween NYC 2026 isn't one kind of party. Across six 21+ events from Thursday, October 29 to Sunday, November 1, 2026, the formats range from open-air rooftops to an underground club room, a candlelit masquerade, a boat on the Hudson and a Day of the Dead party that starts in the afternoon. Here's what each format is like, so you can pick the one that suits you.
Rooftop Parties
A rooftop party trades a packed dance floor for air and a view. Dead Disco moves between an indoor micro-club and an open-air roof, and LUNA: Day of the Dead looks back across the river to the Manhattan skyline. Expect to be outside for part of the night, and dress for it: the rooftop guide has the details.
An Underground Club Night
The Descent is the week's dance-floor night: an intimate room below street level, with deep house, curated lighting and haunting visuals. It suits guests who came to dance rather than to talk, so wear a costume you can move in.
A Masquerade
At Masquerade Inferno, anonymity is the point, and the mask does the work: plan the rest of your look around it, and expect a more intimate, low-lit atmosphere than a club night. Our masquerade style guide starts with the mask.
A Themed Multi-Level Party
Heaven & Hell spreads over two floors with two different vibes, heaven above and hell below, plus music, performers and elaborate décor. Groups can split between the two themes.
A Boat Party
Haunting on the Hudson takes Halloween night out onto the river, boarding at Hudson Yards. The exact pier is still to be confirmed.
A Day-to-Night Party
LUNA: Day of the Dead is the only event that starts in daylight, on Sunday afternoon. It's the choice if you want a Halloween plan that doesn't start at 10 PM.
Whatever the format, every event is 21+ with a valid government-issued photo ID, and every event page links to the official ticket listing. To see all six side by side, read Which NYC Halloween party is right for you?
